JAKARTA, Jan. 27 (Xinhua) -- Chinese shuttlers Zheng Siwei and Huang Yaqiong rallied past Indonesian opponents Tontowi Ahmad and Lilyana Natsir in the final of mixed doubles at the Indonesian Masters 2019 in Istora Senayan on Sunday with scores of 19-21, 21-19 and 21-16.
Zheng and Huang went through tough struggle to win the match as they were defeated by Tontowi and Lilyana at the first game.
At the second game, the competition to collect points become fierce, but Zheng and Huang managed to overtake their opponents after being left behind and won one game back.
At the third game, the Indonesian pair made several mistakes as they were rushed and the situation benefited Zhang and Huang, allowing them to win the decisive game.
Tontowi and Lilyana were the champions at the Olympic in Rio de Janairo of Brazil in 2016 after defeating Malaysian opponents Chan Peng Soon and Goh Liu Ying.
The Indonesian pair is the fourth seed in the BWF mixed doubles ranking.
The Indonesian Master 2019 kicked off on January 22 and will be ended on Sunday, January 27.
A total of 20 teams are taking part in the tournament, offering a total prize of 350,000 U.S. dollars, according to the organizing committee.
