FARAH, Afghanistan, June 10 (Xinhua) -- Militants' attack on a checkpoint in the western Farah province claimed the lives of four police personnel on Sunday, Deputy to Provincial Council Shah Mahmoud Naeemi said Monday.
According to Naemi, the Taliban fighters attacked a police checkpoint in Pul-e-Regi area outside the provincial capital of Farah late Sunday night, killing four policemen on the spot.
Four more policemen have gone missing and according to the official, the militants might have captured them alive and taken them to an unknown location.
Police have yet to make a comment.
