KUWAIT CITY, Oct. 16 (Xinhua) -- Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah returned home on Wednesday after a visit to the United States for a medical checkup, the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) said.

"The emir has completed the checkup, which ended successfully afterwards," KUNA said.

On Sept. 2, the emir headed to the United States for a meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump slated for Sept. 12.

But the scheduled meeting was postponed as the emir was admitted to hospital in the United States for medical tests.
