MACAO, March 23 (Xinhua) -- The visiting delegation from Kaohsiung of China's Taiwan region has signed 23.3 million U.S. dollars worth of agriculture and fishery product contracts with buyers from the Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR), the SAR's financial chief said here on Saturday.
Leong Vai Tac, the secretary for economy and finance of the Macao SAR government, said that there were 49 companies from Macao and Kaohsiung signing 27 longterm contracts, with a total sum of 188 million patacas (about 23.3 million U.S. dollars).
The products ordered by Macao's supermarkets and food suppliers include fish, pineapples and other agricultural specialties of Kaohsiung.
The contracts were signed during a promotion event attended by Leong and Kaohsiung Mayor Han Kuo-yu, who led the municipal delegation to visit Macao on Saturday after his trip to Hong Kong SAR. Han will also visit Shenzhen of Guangdong Province and Xiamen of Fujian Province.
